KRISTEN FLIS, ED.S., LPES, NCSP

Kristen Flis is a Licensed Psycho-Educational Specialist and Nationally Certified School Psychologist with over 10 years of experience working in public schools and private practice. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Rollins College, and an Educational Specialist Degree in School Psychology from the University of Central Florida. Kristen is experienced in working with children of all ages, from birth to adolescence. Her specific areas of expertise include assessment of children who may have developmental delays, learning disabilities (such as dyslexia), Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, giftedness, and/or emotional/behavioral disorders. Kristen is also skilled in the areas of consultation, evidence-based intervention development, social skills training, counseling, and progress monitoring of children’s academic and emotional/behavioral growth.

As a dual practitioner working in the schools and in private practice, Kristen is skilled in developing targeted intervention plans, Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and Section 504 Accommodation Plans. Kristen has researched and presented at the state level on topics of school readiness, substance abuse, childhood attachment, and media influence on children. She is a member of the National Association of School Psychologists.
Kristen is passionate about working with children and families. She believes that all children have a unique set of strengths, and her goal is to uncover those strengths while also identifying potential barriers to learning, independent functioning, and healthy social/emotional development.

In her free time, Kristen enjoys waterskiing and spending time with her husband and two children. She also has a certified therapy dog named Teddy with whom she volunteers with in the community.
